Simulation and Characterization of Nanoplastic Dissolution under Different Food Consumption Scenarios

Understanding of the potential leaching plastic particles, particularly nanoplastics (NPs), from food packaging is crucial in assessing safety materials. Therefore, objective this study was to investigate exposure risks by simulating release NPs various materials, including polypropylene (PP), general casting (GCPP) or metalized (MCPP), polyethylene (PE), terephthalate (PET), and polyphenylene sulfone (PPSU), under corresponding consumption scenarios. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were utilized identify characterize leached packaging. The presence separated observed PP groups subjected 100 °C hot water, GCPP sterilized at a high temperature (121 °C), PE soaked exhibited distorted morphology susceptibility aggregation. findings suggest that frequent takeaway food, beverages served disposable paper cups, foods packaged with materials may elevate risk ingestion NPs. This reminds us can serve as an important avenue for human NPs, results offer valuable insights management development
